Neo vs. Cadence
Neo pulls pair of ear phone out of his coat pocket and plugs then into his ears a slips a shiny silver disk into a box at his side and snaps it shut and smiles as he slips his shades over his eyes and drops in to a defensive stance holding his spear in one hand and his other forward. He smiles again as a rippling starts to form around his hand growing slowly. The ripples continue to grow until it surrounds him completely, a small smirk crosses his lips he his spear starts to glow a faint while as he swings it around in front of him in a quick arch sending the ripples towards Cadence threatening to rip him from this world....
Cadence pulls two sticks from his messy hair. Slowly, rhythmically, he taps the small twigs together. A deep resonating beat fills your ears, even through the earphones. The odd-looking shiny disk shatters into a thousand pieces. Cadence's rhythmic pounding slowly changes, slicing through the ripples, sending them off in different directions. It takes a moment for you to notice it, but your heart seems to be beating with Cadence's sticks. The beats seem to become louder and slowly faster, your heart following his rhythm of life. How much can your heart handle before it will explode?
Neo winces a little then starts to mutter something under his breath as he points his spear at you....Suddenly he yells out and the sticks shatter in your hands.. Then lets out a sigh as his heart beat returns to normal....a dark look crosses his face as he starts to mutter under his breath again and this spear looks as it has caught on fire, He lifts it in front of his face as if he would with a sword blade and swings it in a short arch sending five small fireballs in your direction looking like the patter of the Pips on a Die....as they grow closer the get bigger and the explode around you.....
Cadence freezes in fear for a moment before deciding what to do. Clapping his hands together, he calls on the lakes and oceans of the earth. An unusual sound comes from his hands as they connect to each other. The sound of waves crashing on the shore. Water pulsates in a bubble around Cadence, hardening into a protective ice shell. It happened fast enough that you are not quite sure where this water came from, or how he brought it, but it is here nonetheless. The healing water flows soothingly across the burns the first exploding fireball left on Cadence's flesh. Cadence continues to clap his hands, the ice still pulsating and expanding. Soon a huge, cold, hard sphere looms before you. Cadence stops clapping, the ice melts instantaneously, rushing towards you. The ice cold water threatens to both freeze and drown your seemingly fragile body.
Neo Mutters a quick word and throws his hands wide and slowly lifts into the air letting the icy water run under him...he them smiles from his elevated position and whispers another word raising his spear high as clouds gather around its point. He looks down at you over his shades and smiles and lighting starts to fall from the clouds striking ever closer to you with each bolt....
Cadence pulls another stick from his hair and raises it as high as he can reach, hoping the myth about lightning striking the highest target is true. Leaving the stick floating in think air, Cadence kneels to the ground, whispering to the earth. The rhythms inside him, tugging and pushing at the forces of gravity. Suddenly you feel yourself being pulled back to the floor as the gravity working against you triples in strength. Unfortunately for you, you are descending much faster than you ascended. And with a couple blinks of his eye, Cadence has turned the lake of water you left into a rough block of ice, with deadly spires reaching up towards you, waiting.
Cadence then stands up to retrieve his now thoroughly scorched stick, thankful that the lightning ended when you began to fall.
Neo mutters a quick curse and then a very arcane word and he is quickly engulfed in fire as he descends into the ice melting it then quickly turning it to steam around him....when he hits the ground he mutters another curse and stands back up gesturing at you with his spear as a cool wind picks up and blows the steam towards you...making it seam to condense around you.....He them smiles and whispers another word and the steam starts to freeze quickly building up around you threatening to entrap you in the icy prison that it is building around you....
Cadence slows his breathing to almost nothing, watching the steam crystallize all around him. Cadence smiles as the little droplets turn into beautiful snowflakes as they melt into the icy wall that is forming. Once the wall is completely frozen, Cadence puts all his efforts into forcing his tongue and now purple lips call out a plea to the earth. Finally, as Cadence begins to run out of air, a high pitched sound torments your ears. A single crack splits open the ice surrounding Cadence, allowing air to reach his desperate lungs. As if in slow motion the crack spreads, snaking its way about. The entire cube breaks and falls to the ground, leaving a beautiful shattering sound echoing throughout the Amphitheater.
