Ribble Group Liveries - Post War

1945-1969

The gold underlined fleetname was the first post-war style and was longlived lasting as the standard until 1969. A red version was used on the cream background on coaches.

The subsidiary companies had their own version of the fleetname, in gold for buses and in red for use on coaches. Fleetnumbers were gold for use on a red background, red for use on a cream background.

Double deckers were painted in Ribble red - similar in shade to this page with cream relief bands. Immediately after the war, most vehicles had three relief bands later reducing to two and then one by the mid-50s dependant upon bodystyle.

Single deckers were red with cream relief dependant uopn body style.

Coaches - including double deckers were cream with red relief although the proportion of red varied considerable depending upon bodystyle.

In 1963, a new variation appeared with the introduction of a dual purpose livery of cream ith red window surrounds and skirt producing a modern and attractive effect.

1968 -1972

The most short lived fleetname style was the very attractive cream or red lower case variety introduced from 1968 - firstly on coaches and from Easter 1969 on buses too. Fleetnumbers changed to cream as well otherwise the livery was unaltered.
