Leyland National

Despite Ribble's long association with the National and its involvement with the development of the model, Ribble was quite low down on the list for the receipt of the first Nationals not actually receiving any until September 1972.

However, after that Nationals arrived in considerable quantity and the first "oddball" National was amongst the early deliveries. In addition to the well known protoypes, Ribble had numerous anonymous oddballs which were used in comparative trials with differing types of automatic gearbox as part of the work to develop Leyland's G2 automatic transmission.
