This stage is about building a second wall that has an air gap of 2" from the outside wall. This will serve as a primary barrier to sound and force sound energy to move through the drywall to the insulation to the air gap to the outside drywall, to the next layer of insulation, and so on. Each time sound energy must move from one material to another it loses energy. |
