The Millennium Rowing Association is a group of concerned parents, alumni and crew supporters seeking tax-deductible contributions to secure a permanent home for the Winter Park Crew Team.  This organization acts independently to raise funds to maintain a permanent home for the Winter Park Crew Team.

The Millennium Rowing Association, Inc. (MRA) was created as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization for the sole purpose of perpetuating the Winter Park High School Crew program.  The need for such an organization became apparent in 1997 when the program was notified that it would soon lose its home of 20 years.  Up until this time, the team had been rowing off of property on Lake Howell generously donated by a private property owner.  Upon the owner's death, his heirs sold the property to a developer and the crew team was evicted at the close of the 1998 season.

A task force was formed to search for new property, and a location on Lake Howell was identified.  Fundraising began in April, 1998 and a commitment made on the property.  The property was acquired in September, 1998 and boathouse planning and construction begun.  Mortgage payments, construction and site improvements have been made possible through generous contributions by interested parties.

Ongoing operational costs of MRA include monthly mortgage payments, power, ground maintenance, required site improvements, repairs and insurance.  In order to maintain this site as a permanent home of the Winter Park Crew, MRA must continue in its role as an active fund-raising organization.
