The movies were great
the billiards was fun
I kept you up too late
afraid that you would run

Past loves have hurt you
left  you alone and afraid
I could never desert you
let our dreams ever fade

I know I made you smile
and listened when I should
is this just your style
what have I misunderstood

We had so little time
and yet so much fun
Watched the stars climb
defying the rising sun

Suddenly you were gone
not even saying goodbye
I greet each breaking dawn
asking Why, Oh God Why?
