Another Frobisher poem
Buck
You think you're old, worn out, no good to anyone
You think you're a fallen legend whose glory days are done
You're being chased, so you run away scared
Lashing out in anger and shame, even at those who care
You're scared, running with fear, and it fills you with shame
But suddenly you realize that you can't run away, you've got to get back in the game
And you mind is set even more when you see the fallen young one, your anger burns
And you feel your courage and your stregnth beginning to return
You follow the foe to his hiding place, go in and attack
He's stolen your self respect and pride and you want it back
You emerge bruised and beaten, but with head held high, the battle is won
And you realize that your glory days are not yet done
That beneath the aging shell, a strong heart still beats within
And you realize that you've made the legend live again
