THE SIGNING OF THE CHALICE

The Liturgy of the Pre Sanctified Gifts by St Severius, Patriarch of Antioch

The Qauma

IN THE NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, One God, to whom be glory and upon us, weak and sinful, be mercy and compassion in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Tzevaoth, heaven and earth are full of Thy glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
HOLY art Thou, O God!
Holy and mighty, holy and immortal, who was crucified for us: have mercy on us!
HOLY art Thou, O God!
Holy and mighty, holy and immortal, who was crucified for us: have mercy on us!
HOLY art Thou, O God!
Holy and mighty, holy and immortal, who was crucified for us: have mercy on us!
O Christ, hear us! O Christ, our God, hear us and have mercy! O Christ, our God and King, hear us and have mercy and compassion on us! Barekhmar!
OUR Father,
Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Peace be with thee, Virgin Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blest is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray
for us sinners in both worlds. Amen.

The Proper of the Signing of the Chalice

PRAISE and honor and worship unto the Son of Mary, the daughter of David. He that is the Bread of Life was broken on Golgotha and is broken and divided in the Holy Church and given to His faithful. He it is that brings joy both to the living and the dead, and unto Him be glory together with His Unoriginate Father and His Living Holy Spirit, One God, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

Psalmody

§ The Psalms of the Evening with their Antiphons, ending with the Doxology.

The Censing

Let us cry out to the Lord at the offering of incense!
Let our prayer arise before Thee as the incense and the lifting up of our hands as the evening sacrifice.
BY THIS incense, O Lord, may Thy will be satisfied. May Thy Mother and Thy servants be honored by it and the faithful departed be pardoned who have put their trust in Thee, Our Lord and God unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

The Prayer for Forgiveness

Let us bend our knees unto the Lord!
Kyrie eleison!
ALMIGHTY, eternal God, Lord of the whole world, Creator and Governor of all things, Thou didst through Thy Christ create humanity as the ornament of the world. Thou didst give us a law written in our heart so that we might live according to it as rational creatures, and then didst give us Thy goodness when we had sinned as a pledge of the opening of the door of repentance unto us. Look down upon us who have bended the knees of soul and body to Thee, for Thou desirest not the death of us sinners, but that we turn from our wickedness and live. O Thou that didst accept the repentance of the Ninevites, willing all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, do Thou now accept of the repentance of Thy servants. Behold, there is none without sin, for if Thou, O Lord, markest iniquities, who shall stand? But do Thou restore us to Thy grace, and bring us to everlasting life in the world to come, and unto Thee be glory, honor and worship, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One God, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen. Barekhmar!
Stomen kalos!
Kyrie eleison!
MAY Almighty God grant us all pardon and absolution and remission of sins in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

The Creed

Stomen kalos! Let us all respond and say the Creed!
WE BELIEVE in One God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in One Lord, Jesus Christ, the Onlybegotten Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, One in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven. By the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake He was crucified  under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, died and was buried. And on the third day He arose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures. And He ascended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, of His kingdom there shall be no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lordly giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son, She is worshipped and glorified. She spoke through the prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic church. We confess one baptism for the remission of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead and the life in the world to come. Amen.

The Preparation of the Holy Gifts

HOLY and glorious Trinity, have mercy upon me! Holy and glorious Trinity, have mercy upon me, a sinner! Holy and glorious Trinity, receive this offering from my weak and sinful hands. In Thy mercy, O God, grant rest and good remembrance on Thy holy and heavenly Altar to Thy mother, the saints and all the faithful departed. Grant me this hour pardon and remission of sins and help my weakness, for I call on Thee at all times together with Thy mother and all Thy saints. Remember also... and lastly we pray also as Thou hast commanded us for the peace of Jerusalem.
Amen.

O CHRIST our God, that hast committed unto us this great and holy Mystery of Thine Incarnation, hallow this chalice and unite it to Thy Holy Body that it may be to us and unto all that receive it for the pardon and remission of sins and for everlasting life, by the grace of  Thy Father and Thy Living Holy Spirit, One God, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

THE CHALICE of salvation and thanksgiving is signed with the atoning fire of the Body of Christ for the pardon and remission of sins and for everlasting life.
Amen. Thus we believe and confess and confirm that this flesh is of this blood and that this blood is of this flesh. Amen.

The Prayer for Blessing

Let us bow down our heads unto the Lord!
To Thee, O Lord.
RECEIVE our prayer, O Christ our King, and send Thy mercy on the work of Thy hands. Even as Thou turnest away from our sins, turn us also, O Lord, and make Thy grace to shine upon us and we shall be saved. O Thou whose Kingdom knows no end, to Thee be glory with Thy Father and Thy Living Holy Spirit, One God, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen. Barekhmar!
THE GRACE and mercy of the Holy Trinity; glorious, uncreated, self-existent, eternal, adorable and one in essence be with you all, my kindred, unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen.

The Elevation

Barekhmar! With reverence and fear, behold!
Kyrie eleison!
THE HOLY Mysteries are for the Holy.
One Holy Father,
One Holy Son,
One Holy Spirit,
Who are One. Amen.

The Communion Prayer of St John Chrysostom

Receive me today, O Son of God, as a communicant at Thy Mystical Supper, for I will not reveal Thy Mysteries to Thine enemies, neither will I give Thee a kiss as did Judas, but like the thief I say unto Thee: Remember me, O Lord, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom! Remember me, O Master, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom! Remember me, O Holy One, when Thou comest into Thy Kingdom!

The Communion

BEHOLD the Lamb of God, that takes away the sins of the world! Happy are we that are called to His Supper.
O Lord, I am not worthy to receive Thee, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

THE atoning fire of the Body and Blood of Christ is given to the servant of God, ___, for the remission of sins in both worlds and for everlasting life.
Amen.

The Postcommunion

Glory be to Thee. Glory be to Thee. Glory be to Thee, our Lord and God, forever.
LET NOT our participation in the Mysteries of Thy holy body and blood be unto us for judgment or condemnation, but for life and redemption to us all.
Amen. May the Name of the Lord be blessed unto the Aeon of aeons.
WE GIVE thanks unto Thee, O Lord, for the abundance of Thy mercy, for Thou hast accounted us worthy to partake of Thy heavenly table. Have mercy and compassion on us that we may glorify Thee at all times and Thy Father Who begat Thee and Thy Living Holy Spirit, one in essence with Thee, in both worlds unto the Aeon of aeons.
Amen. May this offering, O Lord, be pleasing to Thy will. Let the angels rejoice with us and bring us unto thee.

Dismissal

BELOVED Kindred, we commit you to the grace and mercy of the Holy Trinity. Depart now in peace. Those who are far off and those who are near, the living and the departed, all those saved by the victorious Cross, may the Blessed Trinity grant you pardon and remission of sins in both worlds. And may I, the weak and sinful servant, be helped by your prayers. Glad and joyous, go now in peace and pray for me always.
Amen.
