TAL'S POINT OF VIEW!
MY OTAKON 2004 STORY

Hiya!! Well Otakon '04 was SOOOOOOOO much fun! I dunno if my story is correct chronological order, but here it comes:

In the morning, my sister and I got up. We had some pigs-in-a-blanket. Yummy-ness! Then, my poor Atwainy's (Tin) eyes burned for some reason from the contacts. Thankfully, they got better and she could see (hence forth drive). Afterwards we started to dress up in our costumes. My sister (Tin) won in terms of dressing up faster. After struggling with all the layers and accessories of my costume, I finished. Of course I didn't put on the scarf and gloves (for now). After this we took pics of one another. Time to leave....or is it?

Unfortunately, I stupidly left my glasses at the apartment. So we ran back to retrieve them (sorry Atwainy). Alright NOW it is time to leave. Driving the first half was SO horrible for my sister. There was such crappy traffic. When we got to the second half, it got a lot better though. we didn't reach the convention hall and park 'til 11:50-something. We passed by the HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE line. i didn't think it would be THAT big. I mean when my buddies and I went to AnimeNext, we waited for like a half hour only. Then again we were pre-registered, came later, and the con. was smaller. Besides that was New York. Anywayz, the next thing was the line...

Now the wait was a total of two hours! Of course it wasn't as long as it seemed. Just MAAAAAAD hot! Besides the long line, it was stinky (smoke!), breezes were rare, and I was MEGA thirsty 0____0 The first thing I saw on the line was "Ed" from Cowboy Bebop. Then an official Otakon photographer took a pic of my sister and I. While waiting under tree shades, we saw two "Ride the Duckie" bus things. The first guyz quacked and were cool; the second group just stared. <sigh> By the time I got inside, I had spotted a handful of people in anime costumes. I took pics of a Sailor Moon group, spotted a chocobo in the window, saw a KH Cloud too. There was also a hysterical DDR Bar Costume, but it said "do not bar rape," so my parents would question if I took a pic. Also, there was a girl in a black and white fuku-like out fit already upstairs, taunting us through the window walkway. Everyone was like "yea whatever....so annoying.." I was saying "Oh man, Miss, your undies are showing" but I didn't have the heart to tell her (especially cuz she was on the other side of the window and she was taunting us).

Finally inside was another line to get our badges. I wasn't so grumpy now since there was air condition n___n Also, we kept running around for pens because there was so much info to fill out to register. Now with our new badges, I assembled fully! (I mean my costume) After running around for awhile we bumped into the Otakon photographer again and, he took a pic of my sis and me again.

So my sis and I ran around crazily around the amazingly HUGE convention hall  before discovering The Dealers Room. On the way I went trigger happy with the camera and took pics of random cosplayers. Wheee. In the Dealers Room I took a handful more of pictures.

Speaking of the Dealers Room, there were so many stories. Here they are:

A Sword Story:
On the long wait to get attention to buy swords, the dealer tried to do something cool or fancy. Unfortunately, he missed ad smacked my sister on the arm. I WAS SOOOOOOO PISSED >:( but she claimed she was fine ::mumbles "even though it's gonna bruise...":: Then she joked that she better get a discount. The guy didn't take her as a joke because he gave her three swords (matching) with Japanese characters plus a tri-stand for $30 ONLY! (a $60 value). My sister was happy and everyone else wanted to get hit with a sword. Irony?- Aerith/Aeris (the costume my sister had) originally got stabbed with a sword by Sephiroth.

Chasing Vinny:
Well after the sword incident and buying a few more things, the load was getting heavy on my sister (oo poor Atwainy). So we tried to tread out of the Dealers Room to the Parking Lot blocks away! On the way out, we saw the best Vincent from Final Fantasy VII EVER. The same height and the costume was SO dead on. While he past us, my sister and I just stopped and watched him walk away. Suddenly, I dumped my things on my sister (oopsie sorry!) and ran after him! Commence the chase! I kept saying, " 'scuse me!" or "Sir?" or "Vincent!" but he couldn't hear me. So I tugged his cape and poked him, but they were of no avail. FINALLY 0____0 He saw me after looking down at a sword ^.^" (so yea I basically ran back all the way to where I started). I thought that he was gonna pat my head, but he just smiled a smile that said "Aww what a short little kid" In the end he did a pose so I could take a pic.

Bad Music For My Eyes:
We took a second trip to the Dealers Room after dropping off the swords. My sis and I were contemplating what Final Fantasy Soundtracks to buy. Then, she spotted some fanart in the corner. Of course (being an idoit) I ran over to see, but in the same area was hentai! The sales lady said nothing, but glared at me. Still innocent I didn't realize what was there 'til my sis pulled on the other side (Thanks Atwainy!) In the end we bought CDs from the lady, but I didn't like her she had such a crappy attitude in my opinion (and I am not saying that jus' cuz she glared at me either!).

Just Say Cheese!:
Lotsa pplz took pics of me....mostly guyz. From Otakon, to websites, to fan-crazy to random, I was there for a pic!

Before going to The Dealers Room for a second trip, we dropped off some merchandise at the car (Sephy!). Then we decided to grab some food. Now what I learned about anime cons are that they are FULL of lines. I stayed on line at Burger King, while my sister was at her ATM machine. The peoplez in front of me wanted to take a picture of "Aerith" my sister, but they decided not to on account she was getting money. In the end we grabbed pizza. Much faster than Burger King. Yummy! Afterwards back to the convention hall!

By the end of the day, lotsa stuff happened, too much to record. I wish I had a sphere like in FFX and FFX-2 or more practical a video camera with me! Anyway, we sat on the chairs in the balcony for a while after stopping by StarBucks. Eventually drove home at around 7 p.m. The moon looked soooo freaky! During the drive we listened to the "Black Mages" CD we bought. We got home late, but we had sooooo much fun. Maybe this could be an annual sister bonding event for my sister and I! We never saw Miss Adella or Miss Alaria or Lord Masamune, missed losta great costumes and took less pictures than I hoped, but still what a great time! Hopefully it will be more and more fun, every time we go!
