X2, X2, X2 |
saw X2 today. Oh boy! I feel the adrenaline flowing inside! I'm not really a fan of comic books or the movie renditions of comics but that was impressive. If you're worried about spoilers then don't be. I'm not really into revealing movie plots because I can never do justice to the events on screen. I think it's mainly the excitement and larger-than-life atmosphere that I like about action-adventure movies. Because I crave excitement, I want it in my life, I want to experience it, to deal with it... Because real life is boring, it's mostly filled with routine tasks and assignments that you have to fulfil day after day, week after week. And being an accountant I can really see the depressingly boring system that rules our lives. You get up, you go to work, you go to lunch, you work some more, you come home, spend a few hours relaxing and then fall into the brief oblivion the sleep offers you. And the work assignments are always the same, day after day, month after month. Tax statements are monthly, salary is monthly.... which means you do them over and over again until you feel there is not one original-thinking brain cell left. And I've only been doing it for about a year.
That's why I like action so much... it gives me the chance to escape the real life, to imagine myself amidst all the activity, to have the strength, the speed and the courage to do what I (or, often, any other living person) am unable to do in reality. This came out kind of depressing. I'm actually exhilarated and happy and energetic because of X2 right now. You see, this is what happens when you gravitate toward stream-of-consciousness - weird and disturbing thoughts occupy your mind.
