Part Fifteen
by Dannie and Rinny

Pacey and Joey entered the B&B to find Jack, Bodie and Dawson camped out in front of the football game on TV, Dawson staring at the TV with a confused look on his face. "So wait? They only get four tries?"

"Dude, your dad used to coach this sport." Jack grumbled.

Pacey's lips curved into a smirk, "I still think he was adopted into that family. What's the score?" He gave Joey's hand a discreet squeeze and then moved around the couch to join the guys.

Joey smiled half-heartedly and wandered to her room, where Jen and Audrey were waiting. She pulled off her coat and tossed it onto the bed before dropping down on it with a sigh.

Jen and Audrey exchanged a knowing look, "Well?"

Joey shrugged. "Well, what?"

"Where have you two been? We left the park forty-five minutes ago." Jen asked innocently.

"Pacey got lost?"

"He missed the one turn he had to take?"

Joey kicked off her boots and sat back against the headboard. "I was pretty surprised myself."

Jen arched an eyebrow as Joey got comfortable. She tilted her head to one side and eyed Joey, "What do you think, Audrey? That looks like the beginning of a hickey to me."

Audrey glanced up from where she was filing her nails and narrowed her eyes discrimintely before returning to the task. "Yep, definite hickey."

Joey's eyes widened in horror before she placed a hand on the side of her neck and hurried to her mirror.

Jen grinned, "Don't worry so much Jo, it doesn't look too bad, it'll probably fade through the night. Pacey must have gotten a little carried away."

"Besides," Audrey added. "A little make-up will cover that right up."

Joey frowned and tilted her head to get a better look in the mirror. "I can't believe this."

"What's not to believe?"

"How do I get rid of this?" Joey continued, ignoring Jen.

"It'll probably fade a little by morning, and then you can over it with make up." Jen shrugged a shoulder, "You can't really just make it disappear."

"I can't let Bessie see this."

"Welcome to the world of cover-up."

"You know I have some right in my bag," Audrey added.

"I don't see why she needs to hide it, it's not like we don't all know."

"Do I need to advertise?" Joey snapped in exasperation.

"All right, all right." Jen pushed herself up from her seat and pulled out the bottle of cover up from Audrey's purse. "Come here, Jo."

"Thanks," Joey muttered as she walked over to the bed and sat down.

"No problem," Jen sat down across from Joey and carefully put some cover-up on her finger and began to smooth it over Joey's neck.

"It's not too obvious is it," Joey asked worriedly.

"No, just a little red, that's all." Jen assured her.

Joey sighed. "Thank God."

Jen carefully blended in the pale cover-up with her skin, "No one will be the wiser."

Joey eyed Jen through her peripheral vision. "I know it's none of my business and you don't have to answer..."

Audrey set her file down and sat up in bed. "Now this promises to be good."

Joey glared at her as best she could and turned back to Jen. "But...Are you and Dawson able to...you know, while you're here?"

Jen's eyes widened imperceptibly, "Well, yeah."

Audrey smiled. "Is there a reason you're so curious, bunny?"

Jen hit Audrey on the knee, "Don't pick on her."

Audrey flashed them both a grin. "Sorry."

Joey shrugged. "I was just wondering how you found the time...alone."

Jen smiled softly, "It's been hard staying in the same house with his mom. But we make it work by staying up until every one else has fallen asleep. And then there's always the bathroom...no one really knows how many people are in there when the shower's going."

Joey eyed her curiously. "And that works?"

"Aww, I think bunny wants to jump Pacey."

Jen hit Audrey again, "Be nice." She focused her attention back on Joey. "It doesn't always work, Gale caught us once when Lily woke her up, that wasn't any fun, believe me. And Jack was waiting to take a shower once when we came out of the bathroom."

"Half the fun is the chance of being caught," Audrey interjected.

"You saw how she was about the hickey," Jen reminded the other blonde.

Audrey leaned over to pat Joey's arm. "Next time make sure it's in an area you can cover with clothes." Joey rolled her eyes.

"It was worth it though, huh, Jo?" Jen grinned slyly.

"And frustrating," Joey admitted reluctantly.

"Because you can't find time together?"

"There's that."

"And...?"

Joey shook her head. "Nothing."

"Jo, I say this in the nicest way possible, I know you're used to your friends pushing you to admit whatever it is you're having a hard time with, but I'm not going to. So you might as well spit it out. You get no judgments from us."

"Pacey has all this experience and I...well, don't. Have any. At all. Hardly."

"Have you ever considered that maybe that's a good thing?" Jen suggested quietly, "It's possible that his experience wont make it so awkward the first time. I think that helped with me and Dawson."

Joey sighed again. "It's just weird."

"Tell her, Audrey."

"Seriously, Joey, don't worry about it." She smiled. "And when it comes to sex, there's only one thing to remember. The golden rule." Audrey straightened and grinned widely. "Do unto others as you would like done unto you. Plus, you know, practice makes perfect."

Jen smirked, "She is completely right."

Joey glanced at the two blondes and then smiled. "You two are insane."

"We are, aren't we?" Jen winked at Audrey.

"And I've seen Pacey." Audrey winked. "You're one lucky girl, Joey."

"Don't scare her!" Jen giggled.

Audrey held up her hands. "What? It's not like she doesn't know."

"Yeah, well...she's nervous already."

"It'll be fine, Joey." Audrey conceded.

"Besides, he's completely head over heels in love with you."

Audrey nodded. "There. Even better."

"Just remember that and you'll forget all about being nervous."

"I'll try..."

Jen was quiet for a moment. "What does he think?"

"About?"

"Sex."

Joey looked at Jen plainly. "It's Pacey."

"I see your point." Jen giggled, "But I'm sure he has some feelings on being your first."

"We haven't really discussed it extensively."

"Maybe you should. Or you could just...dive right in." Jen smiled, "So to speak."

"All right. So can we stop with the sex talk?" Joey asked, inhaling a deep breath.

"What will we do with ourselves then?"

Joey shrugged. "Go bug your boyfriend or something."

"We could do our nails again."

Audrey nodded. "I do need to retouch my manicure."

"Or...."

"What?"

"Or Audrey and I could drag everyone out of the house for a few hours...?"

Audrey smiled. "That idea has some merit."

"What do you think, Aud? A movie and then dinner? Or ice skating? We'll take Alex, and then Bessie and Bodie can go out for an evening alone."

"Ice skating might be fun."

"There is the potential for injury there though," Jen frowned, pulling a pillow into her lap.

"Alex would probably want to ice skate," Audrey pointed out.

"Skating it is."

"Should be fun," Joey said indifferently.

"Since it'll be impossible to drag them away from the game until it's over, maybe we should start getting you guys packed?"

"Who needs to pack?" Joey asked.

"You and Audrey," Jen arched an eyebrow, "Don't classes start in two days?"

Joey shook her head. "Right.”

"What's going to happen in Boston?"

Joey raised an eyebrow. "We each go to our separate collegiate institutes and resume classes?"

"And the one who's not going to his separate collegiate institute?"

"Returns to his life in Boston?" Jen arched an eyebrow at Joey. "What do you want me to say?"

"I don't know. I'm just curious," she shrugged a shoulder. "You've got a second chance with him, I'm wondering what you're gonna do with it."

"I'm just going to wait and see what happens."

She smiled weakly, "Okay."

"There's no point in rushing anything."

"But you want to sleep with him?"

Joey nodded. "Yeah, I think I do."

"And that's not rushing things?" she asked gently.

"It's not like we're trying a relationship or anything."

Jen blinked and shot Audrey a look. "Does he know that?"

Joey brushed her hair behind her ear with a shrug. "I'm sure that he does."
