Part Three
by Dannie and Rinny

Joey found herself in what must have been the guest room, it probably used to be one of the girls' rooms and she slipped Pacey's clothes on. There was something incrediably... sensual about wearing a man's clothes. They were huge on her, but warm and dry. Most imporantly, they contained that ellusive Pacey-scent that had haunted her for years.

This was probably the stupidest thing she'd ever done. What on earth had possessed her to think staying alone with Pacey in an empty house was a good idea? Part of her had thought he had completely forgotten about her once he'd become a success. She should have known better.

He remembered everything, after all.

She sighed, that had been one of the most meaningful moments of her life. Her Senior Prom had been another one.

She shook those thoughts from her head, the past was over. What did it matter that he'd been her last serious relationship? The only man she'd ever honestly loved? Pacey had always believed Joey was out of his league, but as far as she was concerned, she wasn't even playing the same sport as he was anymore.

Finding a towel in the adjacent bathroom she ran it through her hair, then pulled the long tresses into a braid. She had come there on a mission, and the sooner she'd found the paper, the sooner she'd be away from tempation.

And Pacey Witter was certainly tempting. Especially when he got that seductive glimmer in his eye. She'd be lying if she said she hadn't missed being on the receiving end of that look. Pausing, she wondered how many other woman had gotten that same look. Felt the arousing heat of the most innocent of his touches. Looked into those brilliant blue eyes as he slid...

Damn it, Joey! She cursed herself. What he's done with himself in the last ten years is none of your business.

She decided to begin her search in the guest room. Turning on the lamp, she started at the dresser, mostly empty accept for a few musty bed clothes. Seriously doubting she'd find what she was looking for in the room, she never-the-less continued her search. Once she was sure Pacey was either asleep or passed out, she'd head back down stairs to search the study, figuring that was her best bet.

Pacey had put the Bourbon away as soon as Joey had dissapeared, deciding that getting drunk with Joey in his house was not the smartest thing to do. He wasn't sure how he felt about having her here. He didn't even know she was even living in Capeside.

The thought saddened him, he always expected her to go out and live. Perferably some place exotic, like Paris or London. Hell, even Boston would have worked. At least there was a modicum of excitment in a big city. But no, Joey Potter had ended up in the last place she swore she'd ever live, good ol' Capeside, Mass. USA.

It was dissapointing. He wanted to go upstairs and ask her why on earth she'd come back to this rink-a-dink town. He wanted to ask her what she'd become. He wanted to ask her if she was in love.

No, no, that's wrong, he reminded himself. He wanted to ask if she was seeing anyone. A weekend trist while he was at home seemed in perfect order, especially now that he had a very deluctible house guest upstairs.

Every woman he'd been with since Joey was a blonde. It was an unconscience rule he'd stuck to for ten years, not even realizing until a close friend pointed it out. The best explaination he could come up with was not wanting any kind of reminder of Joey while he was screwing another girl. And that's what he did, there was nothing gentle or romantic about it. He fucked them. And he fucked them well. So well, a few brunettes had been known to go blonde to get a taste of him.

A few women, who were none to bright, learned the hard way that it was all just sex to Pacey. A pleasurable distraction from life, like watching a good movie, or going to a baseball game. A good hour spent between a female's legs could last him a month before he felt desire for a woman again. Most of the time he didn't wait.

Having arrived in Capeside four days ago, just after a romp with a curvatious blonde on the plane, sex had been the last thing on his mind. All of a sudden, with Joey's surprise appearance, in had moved to the forefront.

The very forefront.

He started up the stairs, deciding a cold shower was in order.
