BIOGRAFIE
The band started in May 1997 as “The Pleeboys”. Kris took care of the drums, Tomas played guitar and Jef was responsable for the bass and the vocals. After a few rehearsels they appeared on stage in a small farmervillage, called Hoogstraten, just for 3 songs. A few months later Derwin joined the band with his guitar. Slowly the rehearsels made progress. Because of some conflicts amongst the boys, they kicked Tomas out of the band. Then a few changes were made in the band. Jef decided to focus on his bassguitar only, whilst Teun joined the Pleeboys as the leadsinger. With this line-up they were looking forward for their debut-gig in the Punk-scene.Thanx to Dirk from Funeral Dress, they could perform as supporting act for the U.K. Subs and Funeral Dress in November 1997.They all felt that a second guitar was missing, that way Jos joined in December ‘97. He made the music sound harder and faster. After a lot of gigs the Pleeboys decided to look out for a studio and they made their debut-cd called “A Time To Flush!”.  The cd sold well and the Pleeboys became succesfull.
More gigs followed together with Funeral Dress and Unite Against Society. Later on they even performed on stage with the American Casualties and the English Oi!-band The Business. At the beginning of ‘99 a silent period began: a lot of rehearsels but only a few gigs. It was about time they made some changes in the band. Their musical style changed into more Chaos and Oi!. That’s why a new name has been chosen: “RiOT UPSTART”. The crowd was very suprised when they heard the new sound of the ex-Pleeboys. Today the chaos of the 5 boys still goes on....
