Martin's Style A mandolins are roughly comparable in materials to their Style 18 guitars. The sides, back and neck are made of mahogany. The top is spruce. The fretboard is unbound ebony.

The Style A mandolin was introduced in 1914 and is still available by special order. The Style A is currently the only Martin mandolin available other than by custom order.
