![]() Martin Style C (1929) |
|
The Style C is the fanciest of Martin's flat back mandolins. Production of this model began in 1914 and was discontinued in 1934. The total production, over the period of 21 years, was 394 instruments. Of these 394, 393 had sides and back of Brazilian rosewood, like the instrument pictured here. No Style C instruments were manufactured in 1933. The single Style C mandolin of 1934 had maple sides and back, and is one of the rarest of the Martin mandolins.
