I found one lost cousin: Lu Panlilio who has beed trying to connect our roots. I forwarded her your email and this is what she came up with: We have a 2nd cousin also by the name of Domingo Panlilio graduated from De La Salle College....about 60 years old now...based in Manila. His parents were tito Francisco (Paquito) Panlilio (died in 1960) married to tita Juanita Granda (died last January 2003) both from Bacolor, Pampanga. Tita Juanita's relatives are the Jovens. Tito Francisco's brother, Jose (Peping) married Fe Sarmiento Panlilio, the famous jeweler (deceased). Tito Francisco has 8 siblings. Domingo and Lutgardo (Manila), Benjamin (Vancouver), Rita (New Jersey), Imelda (Seattle), Eddie & Ernesto (Virginia) and Socorro (Upland). Domingo and Ben were graduates of De La Salle College. Ben was an ex Lasallite brother. I am not very familiar with the Jovens but I remember, one Joven matriarch was paring me with one of her grandsons and it did not materialize because he was too old for me. He was 32 and I was 18. You know naman the old relatives, they try to match cousins to cousins for marriage. Another relative of ours are the De Leons of Bacolor. I just don't know if the De Leons are originally the Leons. We are also related to the owners of Red Ribbon bakery. Tita Amelia Mercado is a Panlilio/Hizon on her mother side and a first cousin of my dad. Her husband, Tito Rene Mercado is related to my mother side...The Lagmans. Well, we're getting there... let's connect the relationship of your grandfather, Gregorio, to my grandfather, Vicente..... were they 2nd or 3rd cousins? Just like you and your kids, I also would like to find my roots. Talk to you later. Regards, Lou Lou Panlilio's email address is: tesguerra@earthlink.com Hi Cousin! Yes, you are indeed a bonafide cousin. Uncle Pepito Hizon confirmed that Uncle Jose (Joe) Panlilio lived in Davao. The Hizon's migrated to Davao 70 years ago and became close to uncle Joe and the family. They went home to Davao 3 years ago and saw them there. Uncle Joe died last year and was a very special and gracious man. No word yet on the plan reunion from the Hizons. I'll let you know next time. Binggoy Rivera has not responded to the family tree book. I'll be very interested in the family tree book. By the way, I don't know if you have heard about my Uncle Jose T. Panlilio, who resides in Davao, Philippines. He moved there sometime in the 50's; became a boy scout director and eventually a plantation grower for bananas. He was a one-time secretary of the late Mayor Antonio Villegas. > > My kids are also getting interested in the Panlilio path. They came across a book written by Col.
