You will need to bring these things to science class:

2.  A three ringed binder

3.  Lined paper, blank paper and graph paper

4.  Pen, pencils, coloured pencils

5.  A ruler

6.  A calculator

7.  Unit dividers

8.  A smile!

Ø     Notebook suggestions:

1.  Date and number all pages

2.  Underline headings (in a different colour)

3.  Be organized!

4.  Never have loose papers in your book

5.  Always catch up on missed work…see the “catch-up” binder

6.  Use dividers for new units

7.  Correct and keep all tests and assignments

Ø     Study Tips:

1.  Shorter study sessions are more effective than longer ones.

2.  Plan your study time…don’t study when you are tired.

3.  Find out the format of the test/exam. Is it multiple choice? Long answer? True or false? Matching? Ask your teacher!

4.  Pick a quiet study location…make sure you have everything you need. Approach your studying like a job…be organized and prepared to work.

5.  Study in a group. Bounce questions off one another!

6.  Involve all of your senses…create games or songs, make cue cards, visualize the answers!

7.  Take a break and give your brain a rest.

8.  Make sure you have all the notes you need.  Look them over and try to guess what the questions might be.

9.  Take care of yourself. Eat well and get a good night’s sleep before the test. Pulling an “All-Nighter” is not a good idea!

10.  Relax and Breath !!!
