GReddy Type-S Blow-off Valve:
The
turbo originally came with a very nice aluminum, TIG welded pipe to connect the turbo
outlet to the throttle body. Somewhere in-between the two was an HKS non-adjustable
blow-off valve as seen in this photo.
Since the pipe between the turbo and throttle body had been changed, I purchased a GReddy Type-S adjustable blow-off valve to replace the non-adjustable HKS BOV.
I first had to have a universal GReddy BOV flange welded on the pipe to accomodate the valve. Once that was done, it was a matter of bolting it on, connecting the vacuum line, and adjusting the spring. Unlike the HKS, the GReddy actually makes a nice loud whistle as the dumped air leaves the valve.
