VNC is Virtual Netowrk Computing from AT&T Bell Labs Cambridge UK. This is just like PC Anywhere or Carbon Copy; however, VNC runs as both client and server on various platforms: linux, windows, Solaris, Macintosh, DEC Alpha, Win CE (SH3/MIPS), and Java. Their web address is: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ VNC is now being included in the Red Hat distribution (RH70+). I use a linux workstation, but use VNC to access one of my Windows desktops for access to mail and other MS only apps. The client application generally does not require installation. Also a java based browser may be used rather than a VNC client.
