MILITARY DATA: He was hospitalized at Ashland from January, 1864, until spring by being exposed to the elements and not properly supplied with blankets and clothing. Fall of ’63, he had Typhoid Fever, which caused a loss of hearing and he was hospitalized in Louisa, KY, for three months. January/February, ’65, listed absent without leave, forfeited 25 days’ pay by sentence of Field Court Marshal.
