Felix T. Begley stated the following to Rev. Jay Dickey:
"I was born on 6th of march, 1834 in Leslie County, which was Perry at the time. I was born on Cutshin Creek. My great grandfather came from Ireland. He came with my grand father and is buried on Cutshin Creek. His name was William Begley of Hawkins Cty., Tenn. He married Minerva Sizemore, d. of George All Sizemore."
Felix also said that George's wife was Aggie Sheppard and she used to roast terrapins alive.
Felix also states that William was one of the first settlers in Middle Fork, at the mouth of Cutshin, owned up and down the river and up Cutshin and Bull Creek. He tells us that his father is Hiram and that he was born in Hawkins Co., Tenn., He states that Hiram came to Ky. with his father as a small boy, he was about 6 or 8 years old. Felix also told Rev. Felix T. served from Nov. 26, 1862 to Sept. 15, 1865, in the 39th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry. He had the rank of Sergeant. Felix T. served as sheriff of Perry Co., KY. and was a successful herb Doctor. Felix married a Sarah May first and a Fanny Martin later.
Begley, Felix T., Sergeant, Company F, was born on March 6, 1834 in Leslie County, Kentucky, and was a son of Hiram Begley & Cynthia Allen. He first married Sarah May, possibly a daughter of Sarah May of Floyd County, then second to Fannie Martin. Felix served as a Sheriff of Perry County. He died and was buried on Cutshin Creek in Perry County, Kentucky.
