MILITARY DATA: Treated for remittent Fever in May, 1863. He received a pension for rheumatism and heart disease.

FAMILY DATA: Born 1840, son of Daniel and Mary Evans Coleman in KY; Wife (1) Armenda Stacy (divorced); Children - J. Beverly; Wife (2) Vina Jane Rose, 22 Oct 1892 “at Joseph Coleman’s at Ash Camp”. Children- Benjamin F., Theodore.

RESIDENCE: Pike Co., KY.

DEATH: 14 July, 1910, at Lookout, Pike Co., KY.

The Adjutant General's Report states: "Promoted from Corporal to 1st Sergeant September 15th, 1864." Thus, Joseph was promoted just before Burbridge's Expedition and the Battle of Saltville, Va., on October 2nd, 1864.
