It didn't take long to realize we'd made the right choice turning back yesterday. We started up the trail at 6AM and felt great the entire hike. This is probably my favorite hike in the park.
Alberta Falls is .6 mile from the trailhead,
and one of the most accessable falls in the park.
It took a little over an hour to get to the Loch. This was the first time I've ever seen it perfectly calm. There's not much left of Taylor Glacier, the drought is taking it's toll.
You can see Timberline Falls from a long way off.
The only tough part of the hike is the climb up the rocks to the base of the falls,
I was gassed, but the falls aren't that bad.
The route to Lake of Glass goes up the right side of the falls.
Lake of Glass sits right at the top of the falls, not quite glasslike,
but really pretty in the mid morning sunshine.
Rock climbers flock to these formations.
Sky Pond, 4.5 miles from the trailhead.
