Day 4

Quick Hike To Finch Lake

Tuesday was a rare cloudy day. It looked like rain all morning so we didn't take a hike. It cleared up in the afternoon so Mike, Andy and I headed to the Wild Basin for a hike to Finch Lake.

Finch Lake might be pretty, but the day we hiked wasn't. We started out on a sunny afternoon, but by the time we got to the lake thick clouds were rolling in. Part of the trail winds through the Ouzel burn area which is slowly regenerating.

We had time to take a few pictures, put on our rain gear and head back up the trail.

We didn't get more than a light drizzle, and by the time we got back to the burn area the sky had cleared and we walked back in sunshine. It was one of our fastest hikes, ten miles in only four hours. Pretty good time for mountain hiking.
