Show Ratings:

Show ratings are my attempt to rate each show based on the setlist, performance, and energy. I try to use the scale below, but obviously not every night can be pegged, so my rating is always somewhat subjective.

10 An awesome setlist that is performed well and with a lot of energy.

9 Not quite a 10, but a special performance nonetheless.

8 Not quite a 7 due to something special.

7 A good setlist that is performed well and with energy, or a superior setlist with an average performance.

6 Not quite a 5 due to something special.

5 A standard show.

4 A pretty blah night, but with a few rarities, a special guest or two, or an outstanding performance of a song.

3 A pretty blah night, but with a rarity or a special guest, or something else that makes it interesting.

2 Not quite a 1, so there was some redeeming quality.

1 An average setlist with standard performances and no real energy.

Recording Ratings:

Recording ratings are my attempt to rate the quality of the recording. I try to use the scale below, but there are an infinite number of things that affect this rating, so my rating is always somewhat subjective. I do not give bias towards soundboard or audience recordings.

10 A flawless recording. Perfect sound and no problems.

9 An otherwise flawless recording that has a skip or some other extremely minor fault.

8 An otherwise flawless recording that has a small drop-out or some other fault that only affects a small portion of the recording, or a recording with slightly less than perfect sound but no problems.

7 Perfect sound but substantial problems with drop-outs or other problems, slightly less than perfect sound with problems, or average sound with no problems.

6 Slightly less than perfect sound with substantial problems or average sound with some problems.

5 Average sound with a few problems.

4 Below average sound but no problems.

3 Below average sound and a few problems, or poor sound with no problems.

2 Barely listenable. Poor sound quality and a ton of skips or other problems, or abysmal sound with some problems.

1 Substantially unlistenable.
