Adventure Down Under
North Island, New Zealand

This is Kaituna Cascades, the only commercially
rafted Grade 6 rapids. Here we are about to go over a 25 foot waterfall. I'm
in the front in the leopard skin - no jokes.

Here's the next shot. I think I'm under water somewhere.

This is in Waitomo. I was begin lowered into a hole that extends over 100
feet below the ground. This was the start of our Blackwater rafting and
caving expedition.

This is Mt. Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park. It's an active volcano that
last erupted in 1995. It looked like a nice mountain, so I decided to
climb it. Go figure.

While climbing Ruapehu, we were in the clouds most of the time. Then
at about 8500', we reached the top of the cloudline and were above the
clouds for the rest of the climb.

Here's another shot uptop Ruapehu. The lone silhouette is me.

Here's the Ruapehu's active crater. Beside me, while I was taking the
picture was a seismic station. If it's warning bells went off, you had about
10 minutes to run really really fast.
