Adventure Down Under
South Island, New Zealand

This is Split Apple Rock in the Abel Tasman
National Park.

This is a beautiful shot of a lagoon in the Abel Tasman Park. The water
looks great, but despite how hot it was, the water was freezing. Of course
we still went swimming ;-)

Mountain Man

This is on the hike in the Abel Tasman Park. There's me, Hester (Holland),
Lucy (England), and Dan (B.C.)

Yup, I took the plunge from 9500 feet up.

This is a beach on the Wild West Coast.

Wouldn't want to go swimming here.

Here's the Franz Joseph Glacier. We took a helicopter up and hiked around
the glacier for a couple hours.

Here's the other group on the glacier. Look how tiny they are.

Here's a beautiful sunset in Mahinapua.

During our Kiwi Experience trip, we had several parties. There's a boat
race going on in this one.

This is Rikke and Lene. Two twins from Denmark who were on our trip.

Towards the southern part of the Island near Queenstown, we hit the start
of the Remarkables Mountain Range.

This is Queenstown from a neighbouring mountain. Had a few hours to myself
so I went for a nice solitary hike. It was beautiful.

Next adventure...

Here I am just taking off from the Remarkables just outside of Queenstown.

One night in Queenstown, we had a wine and cheese party to watch the sunset
over the town. Of course, the sunset was behind me on the otherside of the
mountain, so we didn't actually see it ;-)

Here is a picture of me and Hester looking really cool with Mt. Cooke in the
background. Mt. Cooke is the highest mountain in New Zealand, almost 14,000'
