Nova Scotia 2001

On July 23rd, 2001, my friend Peter (Pete with 5 o's) and I set out on an excursion
to see Nova Scotia, part of the Eastern Coast of Canada. While in Halifax, Peter and
I stayed with a high school buddy of ours, Jim, who also happened to be my roommate
at Queen's.

Peter and I rented a car and headed out for a tour of the Western half of the province.
We drove through Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg, taking a cruise in one of the tallships,
the Eastern Star. We camped out at the Ovens along the coast where the pounding surf
has created massive caves in the cliff walls.

We then drove up through the province and spent some time in Kejimkujik National Park.
Afterwards, we drove along the Digby Peninsula to Brier Island, where we went whale watching
and saw a bunch of Humpback Whales.
Finally, we hiked up to the tip of Cape Split, near
Wolfville.

It's definitely a fun province and I got to fulfill my goal of hearing authentic Maritime
music while drinking a pint of the local ale.

Here are some of my best pictures:
