I have a confession to make--I regularly troll second-hand stores in hope of great jewelry. Imagine my elation at finding this utterly fantastic bracelet! Naturally, I sat down and figured out the pattern, and since it was so cool, I had to share. The bracelet at right is made with size 5mm and 2mm druks, but since those can get kind of tricky to find, I've done this tutorial with size 4mm druks and 11/0 seed beads. (You'll need about 230 druks to make a 6" woven piece, not including the clasp) |

One of the reasons I love this bracelet (besides how beautiful it is) is the fact it's super easy to make. However, It's made using right angle weave, and that means you'll need a long piece of thread (I typically use a yard or so of thread) with a needle attached to each end. A little awkward, yes, but well worth the effort. In addition, you'll need to use a heavy-duty thread. I recomend a type of fishing line (Power Pro or Fireline), or a very strong nylon thread (I actually use car-upholstry thread from a local foam factory, oddly enough). |
Using one of your needles, string 2 seed beads, 1 druk, 2 more seed beads, and 1 druk. Move this little jumble of beads down to the middle of your thread. |
Make a circle by taking the other needle (the one you haven't used yet), and going back through the last druk in the opposite direction the thread is going. Look, you've mastered the hardest step of this whole bracelet! (seriously--I told you it was easy!) |
There's not much else to learn, really. String 2 seed beads (using both needles to put them on both sides), then make a circle by going through the druk. Honest--it's that easy! |
Continue in this fashion until you are satisfied with the length (don't forget to figure in clasp length). Tie off your threads when you've reached the end. |
Alright, second verse, same as the first.. Basically, we're still doing the same thing, only now one edge is already in place (how convenient and thoughtful of us). Go through two of the seed beads in the woven strip. String one druk, two seed beads, and another druk. Again, try to put this in the middle of your thread. |

It's gotta get harder than this... |
