21. Elizabeth Rogers

Susan Clark writes: I have corresponded with Wilmer Kerns via email and we
have discussed the Jenkins & Pugh families. His book is pretty good, but has a few mistakes in it. He used Quaker records, land and probate records,
but also used info from people who descend from the settlers of Back
Creek. He told me the birthdate he had for Jacob JENKINS was an
estimated date, not factual. I asked him how he knew that the wife
of Jacob was Elizabeth ROGERS since there is no record of their
marriage. He said by looking at the records that do exist, it can be
presumed that Rogers was her maiden name, and also it was an established
fact in that area of Back Creek that she married Jacob Jenkins (meaning that
the information had been passed down in the family.)
