The info I have on James LEWIS is from two different sources so may be
alright. 1) Justice [1925], The Descendants of Robert Taylor, gives James
LEWIS as the father of Susannah. 2)CD102, 1st Ed., Lineages' Library,
Automated Archives Inc [1994], file #179 GEDCOM # 1425, lists James LEWIS d.
1720, Pembrokeshire, S. Wales as father m. 1669, Sibles GRIFFITH, d. 1703,
Llandewi-Velfrey, S. WalesJustice [1925] also states that James LEWIS was the son of Lewis DAVID

The information that I have on Samuel is the same as yours and comes
from "Comly Family in America...", it goes back to Christopher Levis
bpt. 1621.Following is from Richard Schoeller - dick@bgs.com
I have information that takes the Levis line back to 1558. Beyond
that it is muddled. The Levis family in England were apparently
French nobles who had become Hugenots and fled to England. One
branch returned to Catholicism and reclaimed their lands in France.
Our branch stayed in England and some became Quakers. There is
evidence from the seals used by family members to connect these
branches, but it is not enough to establish what the connection is.

Paggot (~1625-1717) and they lived in Mountmellick or Rosenalis, County Queens
(later renamed to Leix or Laois County) until 1683 when they emigrated to the

RESIDENCE: The Mendenhalls came from Marriage Hill, Ramsbury, Little Bedwyn,
Greater Bedwyn and Mildenhall, Wiltshire, England. All of these little
communities are within 5 miles of each other and they are west of London
about 60-70 miles and the port of Bristol is another 60 miles west.
