died 4 mo 21 dy 1757; daughter of Francis Backhouse and Rebecca Cross late
of Saco, Maine. Ebenezer and Elizabeth resided in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
Per Savage, Vol I, pg 89 a Francis Backus of Saco was selectman in 1688.

Horace Wilbur Palmer writes that Wm Palmer of Yarmouth was one of the original settlers there. Later he was a Lieutenant under Capt. Miles Standish. Then in 1653 he moved to Newtown, L.I., where he died. (rather than Yarmouth, Bnstbl.) after William died (betw 1653 and 1661), Judith Feakes Palmer and chdn settled in Greenwich CT. William's mother was appar. F. Blossom (says AF).
