Rev. JOHN WING (2) (Mathew B)
Baptized 12 Jan 1584, Banbury, Oxfordshire, England, died about
1630, London, England. His will was signed 2 Nov 1629 and proved 4 Aug
1630. Married about 1609/10, DEBORAH BACHILER, born about 1592, Wherwell,
Hampshire, England, died Barnstable Co., Massachusetts; daughter of Rev.
Stephen Bachiler and perhaps Ann Bates. John graduated from Queens College,
Oxford with a BA, 12 Feb 1603. He was minister to the merchant adventurer
companies on the continent for many years. Some of his sermons have been
reprinted and are available in many libraries. After John's death Deborah
left England with four of her five children. They were part of the 'Plough
Company' along with her father and many of her relatives. They sailed on
the William & Francis arriving in Boston, Massachusetts on a Thursday, 5
June 1632 after an 88 day passage. The widow and her little family lived
first in Saugus and when the 'ten good men of Saugus' were given permission
to start a new settlement on Cape Cod she and the children went with them.
After her children were married and settled she passed her last days in the
home of her son John in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. (ref: Banbury Baptisms and

Kathrynsays:
The mother of Deborah (Bachiler) Wing is a guessing game. Rev. Stephen had
more than one wife and I've not seen a firm list that is well documented
other than the 'young lady' he married in ME/NH. (yea, that one, the one
with the scarlet letter). Two years after her husband Rev. John Wing died, Deborah, accompanied by
her father (famed Rev. Stephen Batchelder) and her four sons, sailed for
New England on the ship "William & Francis" on March 9, 1632; arriving in
Boston Harbor on June 5, 1632. They first settled at Saugus (now Lynn),

Came to America in 1635 aged 20 (Conway Wing's book)
son of William Hatch, b abt 1598, presumably in Tenerden, Kent. Later called "William Hatch of Ashford, woolen draper, bachelor, about 25" Although the license calls him bachelor, this was undoubtedly Hatch's second marriage. [9 Jul 1624] to Jane Young of Thannington, abt 27 yrs.
Then William moved to Wye, but when he sailed for New Eng in 1634,5, he was a resident of Sandwich, (port) in Kent.possibly late March or early April that Hatch family embarked aboard Hercules, along with wife Jane, five children, and six servants.
Walter was sixteen or older in 1643 and gave his age as "59 yeares" in 1681/2, indicating his birth year as 1622 or 1623 (so mother was not Jane Young)
