Subject: [1GodApostolicChristians] God's Unfinished Business With Israel

God is not yet finished with Israel (Romans 11.25 and Matt. 23.39).

Question: How can the Two Witnesses be apostolic leaders (since post-trib says NT church is indeed going through the "great tribulation" -Time of Jacob's Trouble, Jer. 30.6,7)? The Two Witnesses of Rev. 11 have no traits that any apostolic leader has: What apostle has ever called fire down from heaven, turned water into blood, put plagues upon sinners? Jesus rebuked two apostles in Luke 9.55, who wanted to call fire down from heaven, "Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of". Is the NT church going to change that much? Or are the Two Witnesses prophets of the Jewish people like Elijah and Moses? They prophesy to Jews and torment pagan Gentiles (Rev. 11.3-10).

Question: How can the Woman who goes through the "great tribulation" be the New Testament church, when it is She who brought forth the Man child (Jesus)? In Rev. 12 the Woman who brought forth the Man child is identified as Israel (sun, moon, 12 stars, see Gen. 37.9,10 Jacob, Rachel, 12 sons, i.e. Israel, "Jacob"). The Man child is identified as Jesus. The devil (in Herod) tried to "devour" Him as soon as He was born (Rev. 12.4), He is to "rule all nations with a rod of iron" (Psalms 2.9), and He was "caught up unto God, and to his throne" (Rev. 12.5, Acts 1.9-11). The Man child (the seed of the woman) is Jesus. If the Man child were the New Testament church or the 144,000, etc., we would have to read "men children". The church is a Bride, and not a "man child" (singular). Moreover, if the "man child" is actually the New Testament church, then it is definitely not the New Testament church which goes into the tribulation period, since Rev. 12.6 says that it is the Woman (who brought forth the Man child) who goes into the wilderness (and the tribulation period) for 1260 days. God prophesied through Ezekiel (20.34-38) that He would re-gather Israel (the Jews) as a nation in the last days and that He would again plead with them in the wilderness. Unfinished business!
