Okay, I'm re-instating the family page to tell you people just a little bit more about my wonderful family. Hmm.. which way is best to do this. I think I'll just split them up by person. Collectively, it's weird and stuff to hear what is going on in the family, but maybe each person will make a little more sense.
Dad (David): So my Dad is a Northerner. He hails from the Kap.... umm... Kap... uh... hold on... Kapuskasing (i had to look it up online) region of the province. He moved around a whole bunch when he was younger, and went to a boarding school and stuff, but apparently I'm somehow smarter. Anyways. Dad really didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, he's been everything from a McDonalds Manager, to a milk delivery guy, a paper products company manager (art supply store thingy), to a volunteer crisis counselor, and now he works in the same office that my Grandad worked for. It's actually a mission for people in the transportation industries across North America. He also worked in the water treatment business.... I love purified water... so much... cleaner.
So. Dad is one of those guys who married old to a younger woman. Dad was 30, mom was 21. I don't quite understand it, but it just meant that my dad was older than the other daddies around... and it also gives me liscence when I'm 30 to date younger women... but I probably wont, cause then ya just can't have as much fun with the kids, especially with sports and all.
Dad is a really great servant. He needs to learn to take on what he can handle though, but it's good to know that his guidance is sought by many and he is recognized for spiritual leadership despite his lack of training and stuff.
Mommy (Saundra): Janet for some reason really wanted me to update this section on mom, and really, I don't know why I never updated mom's section. Mom is one of those parents you have to avoid letting in on things. I've taught her to use too many things like emoticons and techie jargon and now she'll overuse it (a typical person of her generation.
ON the other hand, mom is great! She makes me cool clothes (in the pictures section, the bright orange shirt/vest) and knows how to make a good sandwhich (ha! the embarassment came back on her on that one at grad!). Being one of those stay at home professionals, mom was ALWAYS there for us, and still is even though we're not around to rely on her. I have so many memories of all the fun things we'd do as kids, especially the many trips to the park, back when Caledonia was cool and so was the pool. Oh, good times with Ma.
So, there's mom in a small nutshell... hope Yanet is happy now.
Janet (24): Janet is now the junkfood queen. If you look in the pictures section you will see her wedding pictures when she got married to Chris Chapman... pringle... chapman... chips and icecream anyone? It was a great wedding, hope you like those pics.
Janet and I are much alike. We even look sorta similar when i don't have a beard (facial structuring). But we also have similar tendancies as far as sleeping patterns, social lives, going to prestigious universities (she went to Carleton for Social Work). Growing up she had a lot of fun with me cause I was a cool younger brother... and i looked up to her cause she was my really cool older sister, who also let me tag along with her to several things... like high school challenges, grade 4 french classes, etc...
Laura (21): My western sister. She decided to move as far away from the family as possible, to live closer to my aunt, uncle and cousins in Calgary, AB. There she's going to Rocky Mountain Bible College and is involved with their choir/orchestra. She also works in a fabric store. Laura is a very talented trombonist and pianist.
Laura, being the middle child of the ones that lived at home, was much more different than Janet or I, but it's still cool to have Laura around cause our circles of friends intermingle. Back when we were all in highschool it was cool cause we had a huge group of people that knew/were related to each other.
Cecilia (7): WHAT! ROB HAS THREE SISTERS? Yes! It's true I have three biological sisters. One just happens to be my adopted cousin all at the same time. You see, back in grade 5 (i think... maybe 6) my mom got fat and had another little kid pulled out of her one day. Actually. It was a planned pregnancy for my Aunt Peg and Uncle Greg, who weren't able to have a kid. So my mommy had Cecilia, and they adopted her right away.
It's kinda weird, I'm wondering what kinda situation is going to happen in the future when she understands, especially if she decided to be a rebel. I'm sure I'm going to have her sleep on my couch sometime when she doesn't want to be at home. On the plus side, I have a little sister I can manipulate without getting in trouble with my own parents :P Ha ha ha... can't wait till she's older.
Weird stuff, I told you my family is weird.
Chris Chapman (?): Oh my, I have in-laws! Well, one at least. Welcome to the family Chris! I don't know much about you, but that will change as we see each other more that... 10 times now?
