Boston
Rating (1-10): 8.5
Boston has gotten a bad rap over the years of not being a true rock and roll band. I disagree. Boston may not be heavy metal or heavy rock and roll even. But they have riffs and drum beats and are what I like to describe "Mellow-Rock". Not too many bands can pull this off, but Boston does it better than anybody, especially on this debut record, which is very soothing. The next time that you are stressed out or angry, relax and put this record on and it will calm you down. Aside from the mellowness, the songs are actually well-written and enjoyable. Sure, you may not want to mosh to Boston or play it at metal concerts, but it has its advantages if you just give it a shot. Good songs include; "More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Long Time", "Rock and Roll Band", and "Smokin'".
Don't Look Back
Rating (1-10): 6.5
This album is nowhere near as good as the first one. Although it is still mellow and relaxing, the songs sound more like those other "Mellow-Rock" bands that suck. Anyway, "Don't Look Back" is the only song worth mentioning. I wouldn't buy this album unless you want to be put to sleep.
