Coal Chamber
Rating (1-10): 9.5
Coal Chamber has become one of my favorite bands since I began listening to them. There songs are powerful, fast, and have no hidden messages. The idea, I think, behind Coal Chamber is to combine a modern sort of grunge with heavy metal, that's what it sounds like to me at least. The riffs and drum beats sound grunge-like but the lead guitar solos and the vocals smack with heavy metal. That's what makes this record so great, the fact that all the songs are so powerful that you'll be amazed. Check out "Loco", "Bradley", "Oddity", and "Sway", which is becoming a favorite song of mine.
Chamber Music
Rating (1-10): 9.5
An excellent followup to their debut, Chamber music once again combines grunge and metal with a slightly more mature sound to it. Still, the songs are excellent, and let's not forget that Ozzy himself is on this cd, so how can you go wrong? Check out "Tragedy", "Notion", "Tyler's Song", and "Shock the Monkey", which is a cover of the Peter Gabriel song featuring Ozzy. Weird combination, huh? Well, it kicks ass nonetheless.
