Godsmack

Rating (1-10): 8.5
This Boston band hit the mainstream with a bang. It seemed as though out of the middle of nowhere, "Whatever" began hitting the airwaves. With music centering around the drums instead of the guitar riffs, Godsmack provides a fresh sound to the rock and roll scene. I think that Godsmack will get even better in the future with their newest record coming out Halloween 2000. Good songs on this record include, "Moon Baby", "Whatever", "Keep Away", "Get Up, Get Out", and "Time Bomb". The song "Voodoo" sucks ass.

Awake

Rating (1-10): 9
The elements of the first album remain constant in this one. However, the bad elements of the first record are replaced with hard, agressive, and much more powerful vocals. Sully's distinct voice combined with guitar riffs that sound a lot harder and heavier make for a stunning sophomore effort. Indeed, this albums blows the first one out of the water. Although you should own both Godsmack records, this one is the one to get first. "Sick of Life", "Awake", "Greed", "Mistakes", "Trippin", "Goin' Down", and "Bad Magick" all rule.
