Are You Experienced?

Rating (1-10): 9
The quintessential classic rock album. The "groovy" sounds of the late 60s were pretty much created by Janis Joplin, The Doors, and Jimi Hendrix. One of the best guitar players ever, Hendrix exhibits all of his talent on this record. From the first riff to the end, Jimi starts and doesn't stop. The guitar is in a league of its own matched only by Kirk Hammett and Slash, and the lyrics speak of what the time period was all about. The Jimi Hendrix Experience had only three members, but this record sounds like at least six people are playing at once. Classic songs on this record include, "Hey Joe", "Stone Free", "Purple Haze", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Manic Depression", "Foxy Lady", "Fire", and "Are You Experienced?". Overall, this is a classic rock record that everyone should own.

Axis: Bold as Love

Rating (1-10): 6.5
Not as good as the first record, but this one has its moments. The music sounds a lot more trippy on this one like a bad Doors. However a few songs need to be listened to including; "Spanish Castle Magic", "If 6 Was 9", and "Little Wing".

Electric Ladyland

Rating (1-10): 8
A grand finale for Jimi's short but powerful music career. Electric Ladyland combines the good points of Axis with Are You Experienced type rhythms. A great album featuring classic hits like; "Crosstown Traffic", "Litte Miss Strange", "House Burning Down", and an amazing cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower". Check this one out.
