Rating (1-10): 9 Of all the bands that the Ozzfest 2000 Second Stage, the Slaves on Dope are by far the coolest. Cooler than Kittie, cooler than Reveille, and even cooler than Soulfly. Sure enough, the Slaves are my favorite new band, making a sound that sounds a lot like Pantera but is unique in its own way. What makes the Slaves so cool is their story. They were very poor for a long time and eventually made it to the big time. However, they never forgot their fans and you can constantly see them walking around through the crowd during their shows, interacting with people and generally showing an interest in their fans. As far as the music is concerned, it rocks. The heavy, furious sounds produced by the Slaves make for a great record.
