I've never been the biggest fan of this card. It saves you from a  little LP damage, and does a decent amount to your opponent, but I feel like there are just better cards out there. Mirror Force kills monsters, and a lot of the time it means that you get a free shot at them next turn, so you do damage and clear the field all at once. Cylinder is still a good card, and I have mine side-decked. It's one of  the best counters to heavy equip decks. However, if your opponent uses a non-attacking deck (such as Exodia or Burn), this card is virtually useless (Part of the reason I don't main deck it). People are starting to use a lot of Magic and Trap removal, so getting to use the effect consistently can be a problem.

In a beatdown/attack deck, use it if you have room. In a burn deck, use it. In Exodia/Final, don't bother. 3.7/5

This is the most looked-forward-to card of Labyrinth of Nightmare for a lot of people.  Easily the most sought after trap card from the set.  But how good is it really?

To be honest with you, Magic Cylinder isn't as good as I expected.  People are starting to realize that 1 Heavy Storm, 1 Feather Duster, and 2-3 Mystical Space Typhoons is a very good thing, and so traps are becoming less useful.  And since Magic Cylinder can't chain to anything, it's vulnerable.  However, does that mean it's a bad card? Certainly not.  It's a very good card.  It can do more damage than pretty much any other card by itself.  And it's one of the few cards that can really make your opponent play a little differently.  If they have less than, say, 1900 life points, they may be afraid to attack with a Gemini Elf is you have a face-down card because it could end up killing them for all they know.  Cylinder is also good against a monster your opponent used Change of Heart on, because your opponent takes the damage, and you get to keep the monster.

So, is Magic Cylinder worth putting into your deck?  I would say yes, unless your deck is built around winning by something other than life points.  Don't put it into an Exodia deck, but it's good in any form of a beatdown or in direct damage.  It's not quite as good as a lot of people think, but it's still one of the best traps we have.  I give it a 4.1/5.

Amazing. Magic Cylinder is one of those cards that you flip over and want to laugh at your opponent in disgust. HA! You wanted to attack ME!? Too bad. With all those equips out there you can nearly kill your opponent in one go with this thing. The problem is that it's a one use trap and therefore gets your opponent a bit of advantage. However, still a staple in all but the most obscure deck archetypes.

4.9/5. If you have it, play it.
