Hey all! First card review for me, but hopefully it won't be the last.
Today's card is currently the 2nd most expensive card on the market right now, MechanicalChaser. It's the ultra rare from a 1st season tournament pack, making it the most hard to find card right now. It was a COMMON in Japan. And for good reason, too.
It's a beatstick, sure, but the only thing to compare it to is La Jinn and 7 Colored Fish. I don't play these nor ever did, so I'm giving this card relatively low marks. If you play beatdown nowadays, a 50 point difference is NOT that much, considering you're supposed to use monstrous powerups for your monsters anyway. This card is still vulnerable to fissures, trap holes, etc etc etc. In beatdown, play it if you have it. If not, don't go hunting it down.

This card is the strongest level four effect monster out there right now, but is it really all that good? When the game first came out, it was a really good card to have. Now that we have cards like Flash Assailant and Fiend Megacyber, it has become less useful. You can play down a Flash Assailant with three cards in your hand and not have to worry about Trap Hole. After you do that, you can play or set the rest of your cards in the m/t zone. You have 2000 ATK and 2000 DEF, and that's better than 1850 ATK with 800 DEF.
Of course, you can always add a Limiter Removal to your deck along with three Mechanicalcasers, a Jinzo, three Jinzo #7's, and a few Axe of Despairs, a Megamorph, and you could kill someone in one turn with NO problem at all. (Mechanical Chaser + Axe of Despair x 3 + Limiter Removal = 8700 Attack - a one hit kill) 50 more attack may not be too big of a deal, but it can be helpful in some situations.

If you have it, stick it in your deck, it's a good card. Don't bother
trying to trade for it, there are better cards out there that you can get
for less. If it weren't so rare, I'd recommend sticking it in just about
every deck.
Well, at one time this card was sold for $300+, but not anymore. It now sells for about $75, and it's gone down in playing value as well. Yeah, it's still better than La Jinn and 7 Colored Fish, but just by 50. It still can't kill Wall of Illusion. Besides, when your opponent plays Mirror Force, Trap Hole, Fissure, Tribute to the Doomed, whatever, it doesn't matter whether the attack is 1800 or 1850. Don't get me wrong, it's probably the best beatdown card we have, but that won't last long. We'll soon have Gemini Elf (1900/900) and Blood Vors (1900/1200) so it really won't stay on top that long. And Goblin Attack Force now is almost as good. The only other advantage Mechanicalchaser has is Limiter Removal, but that doesn't make it that much better when there's DNA Surgery.
Honestly, it's an overrated card. It's not worth what you'll have to trade for it, so don't bother. Stick with La Jinn and the Fish, they're easier to get and 50 extra points is nothing, especially when you can just put an Axe of Despair on everything. If I were to describe Mechanicalchaser in two words they would be: "trade bait." It's worth a lot more there than in your deck.

Good, but just not worth what you'll have to go through to get it.
