Bring Me Home With You No.3
Spiritual Reminders by Bro. Paul Sia
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
- Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV)

Having counselled quite a number of people in the years that I have been in ministry, I find one thing that is common to almost all of them. A BINDING PAST.

The counseling sessions usually begin like this. We pray. Move on to talking about "present problems and issues" that the counselee feels are the ones that should be addressed. However, as we go deeper and deeper in the conversation I find that most of them are suffering from the same thing that I needed to deal with when I was younger in the ministry.

That you are able to do all things in Him. And that you are not perfect. He is. He loves you. He's with you every step of the way to bring that perfection into your life by the power of His grace and mercy. All we have to do is to let Him do His part while we do ours.

And what is our part?

It's to walk on. And to let go.

Let go. And let God
