You can increase your
rank by conquering enemy provinces, winning battles and holding games. At the
same time, though, you have to keep your reputation intact by avoiding the
following things: plundering, losing battles, having too high tribute, not
holding games when requested and losing provinces to enemy forces (especially
allied nations).
However, even if your
reputation is at dirt level, your rank will never decrease.
The final rank, Caesar, is
obtained when you conquer every single province on the map. Unfortunately, you
won't be able to bask in the glory of being Caesar, because in the moment you
achieve that rank, you've beaten Centurion, and the game ends.
The following chart shows
the abilities of each of the generals; charisma
and voice radius, ordered by charisma. Be sure not to lose Scipio Aricanus or
Pompey the Great, but don't worry too much if you lose Publius Rufus.
