Ethical Relativism
In this context, pornography be judged according to what cultural beliefs a country has. Not all countries believe that pornography is unethical. Others would say it is simply an expression of art.
Ethical Absolutism
Applying the concept of this theory, pornography if judged as unethical, then it should be unethical in any angle.
Ethical Egoism and Ethical Altruism
This theory believes that an act is moral when it is done for the welfare of others. In our country, lots of personalities have been victims of pornography. With or without their consent, their videos and pictures are posted on the net. Most of the time it is not the welfare of these personalities that involves but the welfare of the people who are getting sum of money out of it.
Utilitarianism
Pleasure is the core of this theory. One acts according to the pleasure he gets out it. Pleasure is also the reason why one patronizes pornography. We cannot blame the advocates of pornography to stop doing so because they find pleasure in it. The same is true to the people behind it, profit is high when you are engaged in it.
Categorical Imperatives
Duty is the concept of this theory. With this, an act can be considered moral if it is done out of duty. If pornography on the net is done out of duty (for example, a mother whose only way of feeding her children is posing nude on the net) then it can be considered moral because she is doing it just to comply her duty to her children, that is to feed them. Which is more moral then, to let your children work for them to have something to eat, or use every possible way you can just to have them get fed?
Nichomachean Ethics
Not like Categorical Imperatives, which duty is its core concept, Aristotle's Nichomachean Ethics has " virtue" as its component. With this, determination of an act like pornography as to ethical or unethical must be based on virtue. In determining the morality of pornography will depend from the different perspective of men.
