France 20 Francs Gold Angel Angels
have held an allure since before time remembered. In 1848, France
began producing its most popularly collected coin, the 20 Franc Angel.
Pictured on the obverse is a classic nude male angel, wings slightly opened,
giving the angel a somewhat majestic air. Minted in 1848, 1849 and
then almost continuously from 1871 through 1900, its high mintages and
large survival ratio have made this coin very popular among collectors
