One of our users had a problem understanding the list containing
the map points. The list is modified depending on the selected layers.
The user pointed out that when a layer is selected, it is not very
clear that the list is actually being modified at the same time.
Therefore we added labels on the top of the list, which will specify
what categories of map points are there in the list. For example,
when the Trains and Bus levels are selected, the corresponding labels
will appear on top of the list. Thus the user will get the feedback
the list has also been modified and will also know what to expect
from the list.
We use a prefix to differentiate between different map points like
Trains and Bus. We got a suggestion that different colors should
be used for different types of map points. In this way they will
be more easily differentiable (not implemented).
Our system has the capability to filter map points. Previously
we had the idea of the user typing the destination in the mobile
phone. Nevertheless, our user pointed out that they do not have
any information that they can type in the mobile phone and it will
filter out the results. Therefore, we have decided to send a message
to the mobile phone right after the connection to the system is
established. The message will clearly state that the user is able
to either type the destination in the mobile phone, select it from
the list or from the map.
