Robert Bearne

Robert Bearne was a pupil at Downhills Central School from 1948 to 1952. Whilst at the school he became successively boxing champion of Tottenham, Edmonton, Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and finally champion of all England.

He received his trophy from Field Marshal Lord Montgomery in the ring at Wembley Stadium in 1952.
