My Lady, My Goddess

© by Rogue Poet

As I walk this woodland trail
listening to the crickets, and the hoo of quail;
enjoying this land this wondrous earth,
I contemplate love's miraculous rebirth.

When upon it I come so suddenly,
I almost failed with poor eyes to see…
A rocky valley, garden and grove,
tucked away like a priceless treasure trove!

Overflowing with color, fragrance and life,
an overwhelming peace peels away my strife…
Rounded stones of somber hues
tattooed by algae, pale greens and blues.

Here and there wildflowers galore…
lilies, violets, daisies, and more!
Ten oaken saplings near the centre of the glen,
gold dappled green leaves, with reds now and then!

Surrounding a small seat made entirely of stones,
seemed obvious to me, 'twas a goddess' throne!
To either side grew a white crape myrtle,
ringed round by orchids of pink and purple.

A sea of red roses spreads o'er the ground
whilst in the trees, songbird song… the only sound.
and then a presence more felt than heard,
like the indigo whisper of a single word!

A vermilion crooning in soft angelic voice,
from each blossom; for beauty they rejoice!
The songbirds at attention on every branch,
as butterflies and bees perform their pollination dance.

With no apparent movement, to your throne you glide,
and on the lilting breeze, an incensual perfume rides …
Your gown, emerald green, a gossamer glimmering silk
and attended by nymphs, fairies and others of their ilk.

As you sit on your throne, the golden sunlight caresses…
your hair, a shimmering auburn, of flower adorned tresses,
your skin so fair and beauty untold…
my frail human sight could scarcely behold!

Wondrous creature on whom the light doth shine,
and on whom forever my heart wilt pine…
without you my days will ever be dark
for upon my soul you have left your mark!
Unless, somehow, I can break free
of this wondrous spell you've cast on me,
no peace will reside within my breast,
and in my grave I'll receive no rest!

Until I win your heart and make you mine.
Bonded souls, Love redefined.
And so, to your throne, I do approach,
a heart broken soul, without reproach.

And before you I kneel on bended knee,
to offer my life and an endless sea
of passions so bright and burning hot,
and love that lasts beyond time and thought!

Tender caresses in the pale moonlight
and warm wet kisses that outlast the night…
Soft candle glows to light the room
while melodies play, oboe and bassoon.

And last I offer up my heart,
with a promise that our paths shall ne'er part!
Cause true love lasts an eternity,
and by your side is where I long to be!

Wilt thou have me Lady of grace?
and beside you let me take my place?
Wilt thou let me love you true?
Let me tenderly care for you?

Your only answer an enigmatic smile,
but for it I would walk a million million miles…
Love reborn, a new phoenix arises!
A new life here promises wondrous surprises!
