I have tried to ensure that the sites listed on this page are sites that will reflect the truth and dignity of the Native American People. It is a slow process and I rely on the words of Native Americans who recommend most of these sites. If you know of others whose intent is truth and information relating to their way of life (I am searching for reliable individual Tribal Homepages at this time), or sites that are listed that are questionable, I would appreciate your contacting me with your suggestions at RoHa14@earthlink.net

ARE YOU AWARE??? That in April, 2001, Newsweek Magazine reported that Native Americans had the highest murder rate at 145%, 60% of which were perpetrated by whites? Why is that? . . .and why are no news agencies reporting on it? Why is it that the Native Americans are a forgotten people when it comes to the news media? I have now begun a new page dedicated to reports received concerning the current treatment of Native peoples. See Happenings to see what is going on. Bear with me. Like the rest of this site, it will be slow going. Information will be posted as it is received.

Community Spirit: Helping Each Other

Amizade at the Navajo Nation: Projects vary, but all are helpful to the Navajo! Volunteer and stay awhile to assist the People, in the process, learning of their culture and viewing the scenic beauty of the surrounding southwest.

Native Peoples Initiative: The Native Peoples Intitiative (NPI) is a Habitat for Humanity program that seeks to make home ownership a reality for Native Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Native Alaskans.

Chenae's Site: Not really sure what to call it as it is not truly named, but the site itself is simple and beautiful, with some food for thought along the way. It also has some of the most exquisite native graphics I've seen.

Tribal Names: Meanings and Alternative Meanings: This is interesting information and appears exhaustive. Much work went into the information here, information not normally found just anywhere.

Medicinal/Herbal Links

Remember, although herbs and Native Medicines are all natural, they were/are administered by a knowledgeable Shaman, who knew/knows just what to give and how much for what ailments. Unless you are a Shaman with this sort of knowledge, do not go haphazardly taking this stuff, it is STILL chemically based, even if it is natural and it CAN be harmful if the wrong items are mixed, or if you take too much. These sites are great and will give you a lot of information, BUT. . .my advice. . .take what you learn here and talk with a pharmacist, an herbalist, or someone who knows what these plants are capable of doing. Do NOT just read something here and take the herbs!!!
